Take me away

Lately, what with all the shit going on, I haven't been able to just sit around and tweak around with my guitar (my piano is all but ignored) but this weekend if I don't go snowboarding, then I'll definately be doing just that. Plus, since Chris is going down to Busan for one of his friend's wedding this weekend, I won't have an excuse NOT to get some stuff written down (I'm trying not to think about the movie Wedding Crashers -.-^). But I'm definately going to start working on my demo CD, but Jesus Christ, I can't be waiting around forever, can I? The thing with Yumi...is on the back burner because she's doing a movie now and just has no time. --^ Fuck. Maybe I should take that time to actually get some professional guitar lessons (It's embarrasing to admit that I'm mostly self taught). But then again, who knows.

Sometimes, I feel like I've lost sight of my goals, and that freaks me out, because without my goals, I just feel so lost. I'm sure everyone feels this way, but I've been in this mode for quite some time.

*is currently listening to Eva Cassidy*

Man. Now that is ONE lady with talent right there. I'm sorry, was. She died a while back, and god, that's a shame. Seems like God takes away all the good people when they're so young. Her voice makes me break out in goosebumps, I kid you not. If you guys don't know who she was, go DOWNLOAD HER NOW. I'm so not kidding. She's relatively obscure, but Limewire has a bunch of her more well-known songs. I think that Kelly Clarkson sounds a bit like Eva when they both reach their high notes. Anyways. Yeah. Go check her out now and be prepared to have you jaw drop to the floor. I recommend "Danny Boy" and "What a Wonderful World".

I really want to be someone like her one day. Preferably not dying at the age of 33, though. T-T

Cause it's you and me...

Good god, but Jason Wade of the band Lifehouse, has the grooviest voice that I've heard in a while. He even beat out Johnny Rzeznik from Goo Goo Dolls, and I really though Johnny was the hottest thing since sliced bread. O_O Wow. Jason Wade's only 26.

Is that hot or what? And Johnny's, like, 41. Heh. He's still a hot 41 year old though. Although, to be honest, I haven't seen a recent pic of him in years.

*have just seen a recent picture of Mr. Rzeznik*

O...kay. :D Well, I'd still do him. Older men are hot! O_O *looks at boyfriend who just happens to be 8 years older*

Hah. *drool*

Anyways, enough of this crazy talk.

I just started writing a new song called "Love Story for 2" and it's a really sweet song about love...no kidding, lol. I have the first verse and chorus written out and they go like this.

Can you see the girl who just wouldn't listen
Can you see the girl who's flying on her own
Can you see the boy who sprouted wings and
Can you see the boy and girl fall in love

And they don't know
The whole world is watching them
They're just so caught up
In their own love story

Hey, let's fall in love!
Like the boy and girl in the story

Yeah...the basic chords for the verses are D and C, while the chords are mostly Am and D for the prechorus. The chorus has a buttload of notes, I'm thinking, but since I haven't finished the chorus, I guess I can't sure for certain what they are.

Anyways, the song is really sweet and it's wierd, because considering the mess our family is in (an impending divorce seems iminent. either that or a split family, involving my dad or my mom living alone, depending on who I live with. Or I could just live alone.) you'd think I write something dark and depressing. Nah, I can only write that stuff when I'm content, apparently, looking at the stuff I've written in the past. Wierd.

So. That's about it. I think I'll write again when I finish and record the song. See you guys then!

The pick monster strikes.

I just don't understand this. I mean, I just bought, like, 50 .46 picks a few weeks ago, and now I cannot find a SINGLE one of them. The only thing I found was a Kawasamy yellow .50 that was WAY too thick and had me wincing, afraid that it'd snap my high E string.

But honestly. What the heck is up with that?! Where the heck did all my picks go? I think the pick monster came during the night and spirited them all away, shucks. Now I've got to go and buy new picks. Damn it all, I just spent 20 bucks buying those picks! T-T Money does NOT grow on trees, despite what people (and I) think sometimes.

Currently listening to Fiona Apple's "Fast as You Can" and trying to write a song, but nothing's really coming up, except for some goobly-goop, which is wierd because I'm going through a really hard phase in my life, that being my parent's divorce. You'd think I'd write some really harsh, dark stuff, but I look in my notebook and the lyrics "Hold out your hand/And take this heart of mine" pops up at me.

Blargh. I'm trying to decide what I like better, tabs or chords. Of course, I'm a fan of chords, but I do see the advantage of tabs, although sometimes it's just so annoying when people actually tab out the chord in the 6 line format. I mean, I'd think that most people on the guitar would already know which chords are where and besides, since people have different chord fingering and whatnot. Like me. I have given up trying to play barre chords and now have resorted to playing alternate fingering. Pathetic.
